In the 1950s Marilyn Monroe became a box office sensation unlike any ever seen in Hollywood. She may be even more popular today. As the lyrics to Elton John's song Candle in the Wind put it: "Your candle burned out long before your legend ever did." Marilyn Monroe was found dead in her home at 12305 Fifth Helena Drive on the morning of August 5, 1962. She was just 36 years old. Her fans around the world still wonder if it was foul play or suicide.
